Waiting 4 U

 
I wrote this ... for my future wedding day
I actually wrote it becoz majority of my friends have not remained pure until they were married...
and I wanted my husband to know that I have (and am) truly waiting for him...
 
So though I do not know who this is written for yet...
I hope you like it ...
 
I don't know who you are or where we'll meet
If I know you now or that's yet to be
But one thing that I know right here and now
Is I've waited for you

Lord, I'ts Been One of Those Days, Will You Hold Me While I Cry?

 

Have you ever had "one of those days" when nothing seemed to be going right and everything seemed to be going haywire? You felt out of control and so did the world?

Maybe your kid missed the bus so you decide to drive him to school. You race to the car and buckle up the little ones while reminding your son to buckle up. Finally, you're all settled in and the car won't start. You finally have the neighbor volunteer to give him a lift and you feel so relieved. You walk into the house just as the neighbor drives off only to discover that your son has forgot his lunch. You ring the neighbor's cell phone and she turns around but seems a little irritated.

You finally get your son safely off to school and walk into the kitchen to find out that your 4 year old has spilled her milk all over the floor and is crying she's "sorry, it was a mi-take, Mommy." You calm her down and reassure her that you still love her and turn around to find that your toddler has the whole box of cereal scattered all over the floor and is feeding the dog. Then the phone rings and you race over to it and answer it only to find out that it was "the wrong number." About that time the dog accidentally nips the baby's fingers and he starts screaming.

I think you have the picture.

 

We've all had days similar to this although we may have different scenarios. Our frustration builds to the point that all that there is left to do is just cry.

Maybe we even have things that are more serious. These are very uncertain times in which we live. Maybe a sick loved one or the death of a loved one has sent you reeling. Maybe some tragedy like a storm or a fire has taken away your home. Many have lost their jobs and are wondering how they will support their family. Whatever the case, people can only take so much stress at a time. What do we do with it? How can we actually cope with the stresses of day to day life?

 

We Have A Friend

When we're at the end of our rope, we have someone to hold us up. When we are nearly knocked over by the wind of our "storm" we have an anchor. His name is Jesus Christ.

You may wonder, "Does Jesus really care about my problems?

I could tell you the answer, but I think it would be better to look at His own words and some other passages in the Bible to show you the answer.

In Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus says in His own words...

28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

And there are also other passages that show us that He cares...

Philippians 4:6, 7 (King James Version)

6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

I Peter 5:6,7 (King James Version)

6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Proverbs 18:24 (King James Version)

24A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

So as you can see He does care. He understands more than we do.  Many don't realize the difference that Jesus can make. He's not a religious crutch as many believe. He's our Maker, our burden bearer, our salvation and our friend. He wants to have a friendship with you...that's why He created you!

He came to earth in the form of man and suffered the same things that we do. He was rejected, despised and persecuted. He was misunderstood and hated. (Just like He still is today). But he loves just the same. He loves everyone with a love that is unconditional...not the "I'll love you if you if you love me" kind of love. His love reaches far beyond our understanding.

He told us in the Bible that life would be tough at times. He said in John 16:33...

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

So whenever life becomes stressing...whether it's just the common everyday stresses of parenthood or something as serious as losing an income...Jesus wants you to talk to Him about it. If all you can do is cry, let Him hold you while you do.

Hymn Histrory:
 

This hymn was written by a Chicago lawyer, Horatio G. Spafford.

You might think to write a worship song titled,'It is well with my soul',

you would indeed have to be a rich, successful Chicago lawyer.

But the words,
"When sorrows like sea billows roll ... It is well with my soul”, were not written during the happiest period of Spafford's life.

On the contrary, they came from a man who had suffered almost unimaginable personal tragedy.

Horatio G. Spafford and his wife, Anna, were pretty well-known in 1860’s Chicago.

And this was not just because of Horatio's legal career and business endeavors.

The Spaffords were also prominent supporters and close friends of D.L. Moody, the famous preacher. In 1870,

however, things started to go wrong. The Spaffords' only son was killed by scarlet fever at the age of four.

A year later, it was fire rather than fever that struck. Horatio had invested heavily in real estate on the shores of Lake Michigan. In 1871,

every one of these holdings was wiped out by the great Chicago Fire.

Aware of the toll that these disasters had taken on the family,

Horatio decided to take his wife and four daughters on a holiday to England.

And, not only did they need the rest -- DL Moody needed the help.

 He was traveling around Britain on one of his great evangelistic campaigns.

Horatio and Anna planned to join Moody in late 1873.

 

And so, the Spaffords traveled to New York in November,

from where they were to catch the French steamer 'Ville de Havre' across the Atlantic.

Yet just before they set sail, a last-minute business development forced Horatio to delay.

Not wanting to ruin the family holiday, Spafford persuaded his family to go as planned.
He would follow on later. With this decided,

Anna and her four daughters sailed East to Europe while Spafford returned West to Chicago.

Just nine days later, Spafford received a telegram from his wife in Wales.

It read: "Saved alone."

On November 2nd 1873, the 'Ville de Havre' had collided with 'The Lochearn', an English vessel.

It sank in only 12 minutes, claiming the lives of 226 people.

 

Anna Spafford had stood bravely on the deck, with her daughters Annie, Maggie, Bessie and Tanetta clinging desperately to her.

Her last memory had been of her baby being torn violently from her arms by the force of the waters.

Anna was only saved from the fate of her daughters by a plank

which floated beneath her unconscious body and propped her up. When the survivors of the wreck had been rescued,

Mrs. Spafford's first reaction was one of complete despair.

Then she heard a voice speak to her,
"You were spared for a purpose.

" And she immediately recalled the words of a friend, "It's easy to be grateful
and good when you have so much,

but take care that you are not a fair-weather friend to God."

Upon hearing the terrible news, Horatio Spafford boarded the next ship out of New York to join his bereaved
wife.

 Bertha Spafford (the fifth daughter of Horatio and Anna born later) explained that during her father's
voyage, the captain of the ship had called him to the bridge.

"A careful reckoning has been made", he said,

"and I believe we are now passing the place where the de Havre was wrecked.

The water is three miles deep." Horatio then returned to his cabin and penned the lyrics of his great hymn.

The words which Spafford wrote that day come from 2 Kings 4:26.

They echo the response of the Shunammite woman to the sudden death of her only child.

Though we are told "her soul is vexed within her", she still maintains that 'It is well."

And Spafford's song reveals a man whose trust in the Lord is as unwavering as hers was.

It would be very difficult for any of us to predict how we would react under circumstances similar to those
experienced by the Spaffords.

 But we do know that the God who sustained them would also be with us.

No matter what circumstances overtake us may we be able to say with Horatio Spafford...

When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ hath regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul!

Valentine from heaven

 
 
This is my last blog for this week.
Someone asked why this is in English.
Well it is an English blog,
to keep you read and understand english.
 
I am a native chinese speaker. HAHA~~~
 
Pizza sounds like a nice way to spend Valentine's Day...
Do you like eating pizza?
 
How do you spend yr Valentine's Day?.
 
For me .,

When I got back to my home,

I received a phone call from a friend wishing me a happy Valentine's Day and Happy Birthday.

Who said God told her to phone up me....

This was no ordinary message, it was musical! 吐舌

   

Who could ask for more?

 I also received e-cards from those who shared their regard for me in the most beautiful words.

 

Actually it's my birthday tomorrow,

So this is a weekend to really celebrate Valentine's Day and my birthday.

Some of my friends always complains that they can never find a nice birthday card for me

 because the only cards available in the shops are Valentine's cards.

 

 

I KNOW I'm not alone and not unloved.

I will spend the evening time to pray for all the others out there who might be struggling with loneliness.

I will  pray for them to know they are loved by a wonderful God

 and Father who knows our hurts and needs,

who lavishes us with his love, and who's the best valentine giver of all.

也不知什么时候起,收集卡农各种版本成了我的最爱。
 
虫儿飞..
这是一首让我难忘的曲子.
 
今天在网上碰到了。。
 
很久以前,在5月的一个晚上
有一个人牵着我的手,走过了黑暗里的田野
走过了昏暗的大桥
走了几个小时回学校。。。
 
那一个晚上,他哼唱着这首歌
而我们的身边
飞舞着漂亮的萤火虫
 
那是记忆里,很美的一幅画面。。。。
 
时光慢慢地流走
他也慢慢地沉淀在我的记忆里
而这首曲子
却从未在我心里淡去。。
但感觉却已不相同了。。
 
    昨晚剥洋葱时,突然意识到:生活就像洋葱,一片一片的剥下,总会有一片会让我们流泪!
